Dr. Alex Shestopalov
Dr. Alex Shestopalov is dual Board-Certified in Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology.
He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and moved to Austin, TX at the age of 10. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry at UT Austin, he completed his medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He then completed a surgical internship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where he served as chief resident. Finally, he completed his Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship training at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX.
He previously helped build a robust vascular practice at UTMB, his alma mater, where he practiced the full gamut of vascular and interventional radiology procedures. More recently, he was the managing physician at Modern Vascular of Houston where he performed exclusively percutaneous arterial and venous interventions. These included a significant amount of complex peripheral arterial cases and pedal loop work, which he has achieved great expertise in. Dr. Shestopalov is extremely passionate about all vascular procedures, particularly in helping patients with severe non-healing wounds and preventing limb amputations.
He is now excited to be practicing jointly with some of his best friends and providing high-level care for a variety of medical conditions including peripheral arterial disease (PAD), knee pain/arthritis, BPH, uterine fibroids, and venous disorders in a minimally invasive manner. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, listening to music, watching sporting events, hanging out with his family and friends, and watching his children grow up.
